Delayed Movies of 2020

Cole Delaney, Staff Writer

In the year of 2020 almost 40 movies were set to release in the months of March, April, May, June, and July. 2020 was one of the most anticipated years for the film industry because of the caliber of movies that were going to be released.

One of the biggest companies affected by the pandemic is Disney, with over six movies being delayed. Some of those include Marvel’s Black Widow and Eternals, the live action remake of Mulan, and Pixar’s Soul.

Some films have been dealt worse hands than others, like, Fox’s New Mutants, which has been pushed back to a later date for the fifth time since its original release date of 2016. Other films that have been delayed are Sony’s Morbius and Paramount’s The Spongebob Movie: Sponge on the Run.

Those waiting for the next movie in their favorite franchise will have to wait for longer for the next installation. Some sequels that will experience delays include Universal Pictures’  Fast 9, Paramount’s A Quiet Place: Part II, Skydance Media’s Top Gun: Maverick, and DC’s Wonder Woman 84. Some movies have been released on Video on Demand, like, Dreamworks’ Trolls 2 and Pixar’s Onward.
